On February 5, a China-Vietnam cross-border freight train loaded with Chinese New Year goods such as beverages and condiments departed from Nanning International Railway Port, bound for Vietnam. This marks the first China-Vietnam “New Year goods” train launched from Guangxi this year, bringing authentic “Chinese flavors” to dining tables in Vietnam ahead of the Spring Festival.
In recent years, China-Vietnam freight trains, leveraging advantages such as large transport capacity, high efficiency, low cost and all-weather operation, have become an important logistics link connecting southwest China with Vietnam. They have played a significant role in stabilizing cross-border industrial and supply chains and promoting bilateral trade. In 2025, China-Vietnam freight trains departing from Guangxi transported a total of 37,000 TEUs of export goods, reaching a record high and representing a year-on-year increase of 86 percent.
