After more than 1,200 days of arduous efforts, the Majie Tunnel, a key and challenging control project along the entire Tianshui-Longnan Railway, was successfully completed, laying a solid foundation for the line to open to traffic on schedule.
The Tianshui-Longnan Railway is a key project under the national medium- and long-term railway network plan and is also the first railway independently invested in and constructed by Gansu province. It is a regional trunk railway line serving both passenger and freight transport. Upon completion and opening, it will connect with the Lanzhou-Lianyungang Railway and the Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway, becoming an important link in opening up the southbound corridor of Gansu province and enhancing the transport capacity of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
