Ningxia’s First Onion Rail-Sea Intermodal Block Train of the Year Departs

On January 17, a refrigerated freight train carrying 390 metric tons of onions from Ningxia departed with a whistle from the Yinchuan Operations Department of Yinchuan Railway Logistics Center under CR-Lanzhou. The shipment is transported to Qingdao Port in Shandong province via rail-sea intermodal transport under a “one-bill system.” The onions will be shipped overseas from the port to Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Malaysia. The batch is expected to reach major consumer markets in Southeast Asia in 15 days. Railway authorities will continue to optimize the cold-chain logistics service network and steadily improve the quality of block train and scheduled operations, facilitating the stable export of more high-quality agricultural products from Ningxia and western China.
