On January 19, Tianjin’s first cross-Caspian China-Central Asia Train with direct service to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, was officially launched. The train is carrying cargo including stainless steel pipes and home appliances. It will travel via Aktau Port in Kazakhstan and then cross the Caspian Sea by maritime transport before finally arriving in Baku. This route adds a new stable freight corridor from Tianjin to Central Asia and Europe. After arriving in Baku, the cargo can also be distributed onward to Turkey and other countries, further promoting economic and trade ties between northern China and the Eurasian region.
